It was the hottest ticket in Hollywood… the Oxygen Celebrity Dodgeball Tournament to Benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation took place Saturday, March 29th at Hollywood Post 43 in Los Angeles.
For the second year in a row, young Hollywood came together to relive their gym class glory days in an adult rendition of the famous childhood game…dodgeball. The high-energy evening was 100% underwritten by Oxygen to ensure that every dollar raised will help provide a healthier future for children worldwide.
Many thanks to our title sponsor Oxygen and sponsors Variety and Zoo Productions and to our dedicated event committee led by event co-chairs Barry Poznick, John Stevens, and David Sadkin for helping us to raise more than $80,000 for the Foundation.
Celebrities Show… Who’s Got the Balls!!
Among the more than 50 celebrities who faced off in the childhood game of dodgeball as players or spectators were Yancey Arias, Sharif Atkins, Dave Foley, Brendan Fraser, Seth Green, Cheryl Hines, Cris Judd, Mathew St. Patrick, Scott Patterson, Brad Paisley, Mehki Phifer, Benito Martinez, Poppy Montgomery, Victor Webster, Kimberly Williams, Constance Zimmer and many more.
In the Celebrity Exhibition Game, last year’s celebrity champions with a penchant to win, Team Survivor led by host Jeff Probst with Ethan Zohn, Colby Donaldson, Lex van den Berghe and Jenna Lewis took on Team Bachelor/Bachelorette with host Chris Harrison and his team of “love birds” featuring new bachelor Andrew Firestone, Trista Rehn & Ryan Sutter and Aaron Buerge.
There were many memorable moments of the night, but the biggest upset was when Team Bachelor defeated the defending Survivor champions in the first round!
In the end it was Team MTV featuring MTV Real World Las Vegas cast members Steven Hill and Frank Roessler and Road Rules alums Tim Beggy, Adam Larsen, and Mike “The Miz” Mizanin who took home the trophies and were crowned the Celebrity Champions of the evening!
Two Times A Charm… Hollywood Movie Magic Makes Magic on the Court
In the tournament, 16 teams competed to become Celebrity Dodgeball Champions. In a fierce and competitive round of games, Team Hollywood Movie Magic was crowned Celebrity Dodgeball Champions for the second year in a row! The winning team featuring Damon Lantz, John Gallagher, Kris Deem, Todd Perry, and Tyler Turquand, not only took home their second set of trophies, but were presented with an all-expense paid vacation for 10 to Jamaica courtesy of Air Jamaica and Beaches by Sandals Resorts.
